“When was the last time you only focused on one thing? Then when was the last time you only listened to music, not doing anything else?”
In a culture shaped by speed and multitasking, the simple act of listening—without doing anything else—has become increasingly rare. This work invites participants to slow down, through a pair of headphones created to be held, not worn.
The project was inspired by the quiet ritual of holding a warm cup with both hands—an ordinary gesture that brings stillness and presence.
As someone who had come to normalise multitasking, constantly shifting between tasks and valuing busyness, I began to question what it meant to be truly present. In that search, I turned to music as a rare space where I could focus on just one thing. This project was born from that personal shift: a deliberate move toward stillness and single-tasking. It invites others to momentarily step away from distraction and experience the quiet clarity of listening with intention.
