FINGER NAILS: THE SHOES PROJECT
Skills: Experimental Footwear Design,
Surface & Texture Study, Concept Development
Format: Art Footwear, Mixed-Media Installation
(Paper, Faux Leather, Wax)
Year: 2021
This project began with a close observation of fingernails—an everyday part of the body that often reflects states of care, anxiety, or identity through subtle changes in shape and texture.
Using footwear as a medium, the project reinterprets these visual and tactile cues through material experimentation with paper, faux leather, and wax. Each form explores how fragility, repetition, and surface irregularities can offer alternative approaches to fashion, shifting the focus toward unnoticed expressions of the body.
